OROPRESS
A simple, wearable technology to measure tongue pressure during swallowing to enable patients with dysphagia to carry out therapies and to track their progress.

Jean Furey and Adam de Eyto from Design Factors work with the interfaculty Oropress research team including: PI Dr. Vincent Casey (Science & Engineering), Prof Alison Perry (Dean of EHS). Dr. Richard Casey (S&E), Dr. John Garvey (Kemmy Business School) with research assistance from Molly Manning (Clinical Therapies), Dr. John Guiry (S&E) and Joanne Mc Cormac (EHS).
Clinical Investigations
The Oropress prototype recieved HPRA aproval and Clinical Investigations were undertaken in two Hospital sites in Ireland to develop a functional prototype.
